This is where rules end.

Index of Noise

Not a mood board. A working index of what noise looks like before it becomes structure.

Context

A reference library with rules

Every studio keeps reference. Most of it is unusable within a year because it was collected by taste rather than by criteria.

Index of Noise is an attempt to collect by criteria. An image enters the archive only if it demonstrates one of four conditions: dispersal, fracture, residue, or emergence. Nothing is filed by subject, mood or colour.

Anatomical collage — a figure dissolving into orbital diagrams and red spheres.
Two figures dispersing into ink and smoke beneath a black sun and a red disc.
A silhouette breaking apart into a cloud of particles against a bleached ground.
Chaos is not the absence of structure. It is structure waiting to be discovered.

HERT

A skeletal leaf, half intact and half burned into red ash, on a pale ground.

Criteria

Four conditions

Dispersal — matter leaving its own form while remaining recognisable.

Fracture — a structure that has failed along a line you can read.

Residue — what is left when the event is over.

Emergence — order becoming visible without being imposed.
